Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), through its Research and Development Institute, participated in the Research and Innovation Management Professional (RIMP) training programme in Trang Province. The programme brought together research professionals and experts from the nine Rajamangala Universities of Technology network, as well as representatives and experts from Thailand’s research and higher education sectors, creating a platform for cross-sectoral dialogue and knowledge exchange on aligning research and innovation with national development priorities and sustainable development.
Participants exchanged perspectives on transforming Thailand’s research system from a publication-centric to an impact-centric approach, emphasizing research that generates measurable benefits for communities, industry, and society. The programme also included a study visit to the Na Muen Si Weaving Community Learning Center, providing participants with practical insights into research management approaches that create tangible community impact, together with workshops on research proposal development and effective research management.
Through participation in the RIMP programme, RMUTL strengthened collaboration and dialogue among universities, national research organizations, research professionals, and local communities on using research and innovation to address social and economic challenges, reduce inequality, support sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to sustainable national development.
