In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16): Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) continues to strengthen transparency and ethical governance through the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) Training Program held on February 2, 2024.
Promoting Transparency and Ethical Standards
The Office of the President and the Assistant to the President of RMUTL organized the ITA operational meeting for the fiscal year 2024 at Kasalong Conference Room, Office of the President Building, and via Zoom Meeting.
The event aimed to enhance the understanding and performance of RMUTL personnel in implementing the ITA framework — a national initiative that measures the integrity and transparency of public sector organizations.
Asst. Prof. Somkiat Wongpanich, Vice President for Administration, presided over the opening ceremony and emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting ethical standards, transparency, and accountability across all departments.
Strengthening Governance Across Six Campuses
The meeting served as a platform to report the results of RMUTL’s ITA assessment and to set strategies for improving institutional integrity in alignment with Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy.
Participants included RMUTL staff from all six campuses as well as external stakeholders, ensuring collective understanding and collaboration in promoting transparency and ethical conduct in university operations.
Expert Guidance from NACC Region 5
The program was honored by guest speakers from the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) Region 5, including Ms. Orathai Phiboonaluck, Director of the Regional Anti-Corruption Coordination Division, and Ms. Krisanaporn Kantha, staff member of the NACC Region 5 Office.
They delivered in-depth lectures and shared best practices on anti-corruption measures, ethical conduct, and institutional integrity, helping RMUTL personnel enhance their understanding of governance standards.
Advancing SDG 16 Through Integrity and Accountability
This initiative reflects RMUTL’s ongoing efforts to promote good governance, ethical leadership, and institutional transparency, key pillars of SDG 16.
By continuously improving its ITA performance and integrating anti-corruption principles into all operations, RMUTL reaffirms its role as a model institution for ethical governance and sustainable development in Thailand’s higher education sector.
