Students from Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), Lampang Campus, demonstrated their ability to apply sustainability concepts to technological innovation by receiving a special award at the Thailand Green Design Awards 2025.
The award was presented during Kaset Fair 2025 at Kasetsart University in recognition of an innovative project developed by two Information Technology students from RMUTL’s Faculty of Science and Agricultural Technology.
Ms. Parichat Wandee and Ms. Sarocha Chaipa received the Object of Desire Store (ODS) Special Award for their project, “SR Recycle,” a web-based application designed to support recyclable waste trading and encourage more sustainable waste management practices.
The project addressed challenges related to recycling participation and the use of digital technology to improve waste management processes.
By developing the platform, the students demonstrated their ability to connect technological knowledge with environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, and sustainable consumption.
The Thailand Green Design Awards provided an external platform for evaluating student innovation, allowing participating projects to be reviewed in a competitive environment focused on environmentally responsible design.
The recognition of SR Recycle highlights the importance of applied learning outcomes in sustainability education. Students’ ability to develop a practical solution to an environmental challenge provides evidence of their understanding of sustainability principles beyond theoretical coursework.
Such project-based accomplishments offer universities valuable opportunities to examine how students translate environmental knowledge into real-world applications.
