17–21 February 2025 – Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) joined international university partners in the launch of the “Learning for Sustainable Future – Higher Education for Green Transition in Southeast Asia” (GreenEdAsia) project at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Vietnam.
Funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ Programme with a total budget of €800,000, GreenEdAsia brings together universities from Thailand, Vietnam, Finland, and Spain to advance sustainable development and the green transition in Southeast Asian higher education.
The international partnership includes HCMUTE, Dong Thap University, Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), the University of Burgos (UBU), Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), and RMUTL.
Through this international network, participating universities collaborate to exchange institutional information, sustainability-related knowledge and academic practices that can support the development and evaluation of green education initiatives. The collaboration provides an international framework for participating institutions to share evidence and information relevant to sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Running until October 2027, GreenEdAsia focuses on integrating green and environmentally friendly elements into academic programmes, strengthening international academic cooperation, and supporting the development of a more sustainable higher education system in Southeast Asia.
