RMUTL Expands Outreach Educational Activities for Alumni, Local Residents, and Displaced People

Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) demonstrates its strong commitment to community engagement and outreach educational activities through various initiatives designed to benefit local residents, alumni, and displaced people. The university regularly organizes public learning programs and community development projects that extend beyond the classroom, ensuring that education contributes directly to social progress. For example, RMUTL’s community empowerment activities focus on improving the quality of life of local populations through practical training, innovation workshops, and skill-building sessions. These initiatives enable participants to gain valuable knowledge that supports livelihood development, sustainability, and self-reliance—demonstrating RMUTL’s role as a university that prioritizes inclusive education for all.

In addition, RMUTL works closely with local communities and alumni networks to strengthen social and economic resilience through its outreach projects. The RMUTL Lampang Campus Community Engagement Program is an excellent example, involving students, staff, and graduates in collaborative efforts to support community fairs, promote local craftsmanship, and apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Through these activities, RMUTL fosters long-term partnerships that strengthen alumni engagement while empowering local residents to participate in sustainable economic and environmental initiatives.

Furthur more, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), through its Business Incubation Center, in collaboration with partner agencies, organized a two-day workshop titled “Business Readiness and Entrepreneurial Development” on 6–7 March 2025 at the 5th-floor conference room, Chalermphrakiat Building, RMUTL Chiang Mai.

The initiative forms part of RMUTL’s ongoing community outreach and lifelong learning efforts, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of entrepreneurs, students, alumni, and university staff. By integrating academic knowledge, technology, and innovation, the program supports participants in becoming high-potential entrepreneurs equipped to thrive in the rapidly changing economy.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Anon Namin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research, and Academic Services, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Anan Thasna-udom, Director of the Business Incubation Center, reported the objectives of the event. A total of 25 participants joined the workshop, reflecting RMUTL’s strong focus on inclusive learning and professional development for both current students and graduates.

The training covered practical knowledge and hands-on workshops on:

  • Business planning and investment strategy

  • Product and service development models

  • Accessing financial resources and funding opportunities

  • Adopting technology and innovation to enhance competitiveness in local and regional markets

Experts from diverse academic and professional sectors shared their insights, including representatives from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Chulalongkorn University, and Thammasat University.

This initiative reflects RMUTL’s mission to extend educational impact beyond the campus, offering knowledge and skill development opportunities to alumni, local business owners, and community enterprises. By fostering entrepreneurial capacity and innovation-driven growth, RMUTL strengthens the link between higher education, local economic resilience, and sustainable development.

Through these ongoing outreach activities, RMUTL demonstrates its commitment to lifelong learning, alumni engagement, and inclusive education, ensuring that graduates and community members continue to benefit from the university’s expertise and resources long after graduation.
