On October 29, 2024 — Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) continues to demonstrate its direct involvement in national and regional Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) policy development through a comprehensive and collaborative approach that combines academic expertise, research-driven analysis, and partnerships with both government and nongovernment organizations (NGOs). The university plays an active role in identifying problems and challenges related to sustainable development by conducting in-depth assessments and research on education quality, innovation, and community well-being. Through initiatives such as the 2024 Capacity-Building Workshop on SDG Reporting and THE Impact Rankings Analysis, RMUTL has strengthened its institutional capability to develop data-informed policies and strategies that align with Thailand’s sustainable development framework and the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
RMUTL further contributes to modelling likely futures with and without interventions by utilizing AI-based analytical tools and data visualization systems to forecast the impacts of sustainability initiatives. The university also engages in monitoring and reporting on interventions, producing evidence-based insights that guide national SDG strategies under the leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). By providing policy input, technical expertise, and adaptive management mechanisms, RMUTL ensures that higher education plays a transformative role in Thailand’s sustainable development. This integrated approach reinforces the university’s position as a strategic partner in driving forward a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for the nation.
