Between January 2024 and March 2025, RMUTL strengthened university-wide efforts to reduce poverty by expanding need-based access to vocational and higher education, scaling skills for decent work in Northern Thailand, and delivering community outreach that increases household income. The university deepened its multi-year partnership with Thailand’s Equitable Education Fund (EEF/กสศ.) to award Innovation Vocational Scholarships (ทุนนวัตกรรมสายอาชีพชั้นสูง) and the Princess’s Scholarship (ทุนพระกนิษฐาสัมมาชีพ) to low-income and disadvantaged learners; joined provincial research and skills coalitions focused on poverty alleviation; and deployed community-facing technology transfer and entrepreneurship supports.
Institutional Policy & Governance
Policy alignment. RMUTL’s SDG portal articulates institutional commitment to all 17 SDGs—including SDG 1—through governance, research, learning and teaching, and community engagement. The portal consolidates SDG 1 cases, guidance, and documentation to support evidence-based reporting and internal coordination. RMUTL SDGs+1
Targeted access for low-income learners. RMUTL operationalizes SDG 1 through scholarships dedicated to students from low-income (ครัวเรือนยากจน) and disadvantaged backgrounds. In February 2024, RMUTL formally announced the AY2024 EEF Innovation Vocational Scholarships with open calls emphasizing equity and poverty reduction through education. มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลล้านนา
